► MaMaMa: helping women and babies facing great hardship

In the Greater Paris area, around 50,000 babies are estimated to need emergency food. During the first lockdown, many women found themselves in even greater difficulty to provide their children’s basic needs. To help them, Magali Bragar co-founded MaMaMa, a nonprofit based in Saint-Denis. Formula milk, diapers, toiletries and baby care items, as well warm clothing and toys, are some of the parcels MaMaMa prepares. They are personalized for each family, so that mothers and babies have what they need to live on. Parcels are delivered by appointment, because MaMaMa volunteers are keen to spend some time with each person. That way, they support the women the best they can and establish a relationship with them.
