L'Observatoire Philanthropie & Société

L’Observatoire Philanthropie et Société (anciennement Observatoire de la philanthropie) contribue depuis 1997 au développement de la connaissance sur le secteur philanthropique et les grands enjeux sociaux, sociétaux, et environnementaux. Ses études apportent une meilleure compréhension de ces questions tant en France qu’à l’international.

The Observatory produces several types of studies examining how foundations work in favor of the public interest, including their strategies and operations, as well as exploring major social challenges where foundations and civil society play a crucial role.

These studies are carried out by the Observatory’s team in collaboration with specialists in the research subjects.

A New Name, A Greater Impact

In November 2024, the Philanthropy Observatory changed its name and became the Philanthropy & Society Observatory. This evolution aligns with the Observatory's growing strategic focus on understanding major social and societal challenges to serve the public good. The change follows the 2022 launch of the "Philanthropy & Society" research series, a collection of studies on the role, place, and responsibilities of philanthropy in addressing societal challenges.
