Fondation de France has published its activity report, covering the key issues of 2021. A sheltering foundation, it has also published a directory of founders, listing all 945 donor-advised funds in 2021, as well as a financial report, attesting to its robustness and transparency.
Building an inclusive and sustainable world
The 2021 annual report shows Fondation de France’s ability to adapt and reassess its priorities and work methods, in order to act where it matters most. Inspire, support, take action... locally are the four cross-cutting themes that have guided our work throughout the year. The overarching aim is to build a more peaceful, inclusive and sustainable world.
The leading philanthropy network in France, Fondation de France and its 945 donor-advised funds allocated more than 197 million euros to the implementation and monitoring of 10,654 projects in all non-profit sectors in 2021. Solidarity and social interaction, combating climate change, medical research, young people’s health and women’s rights, these causes and many others were of major concern in 2021, a year still marked by the pandemic.
“If Fondation de France has been able to accomplish this dual mission, it is thanks to the generosity of its donors and the commitment of its founders, who have expressed their support with extraordinary force and magnitude,” declared Pierre Sellal, Fondation de France President. In 2020, mobilization was already very strong and yet in 2021, the generosity of donors continued to increase. Donations (excluding emergencies) rose by 8%, a sure sign of the trust that donors place in Fondation de France. Generosity was also evidenced by the creation of 46 new donor-advised funds.
With its geographic coverage, Fondation de France has detailed knowledge of local areas and can work at the right scale, thanks to the vitality of its six regional foundations.
And because philanthropy knows no boundaries, it also works with partners overseas to promote international generosity and develop joint projects.
