Traditionally low-key, little is known about French philanthropy. To shed light on this, the Fondation de France Observatory has published data on the profiles of 261 philanthropists, as well as the backgrounds, motivations and stories of 18 French philanthropists. This study also includes economic data on the scale of philanthropy by private individuals in France, as well as the results of a Mediaprism survey on ‘Philanthropy in France’.
