France’s unwavering solidarity: giving in excess of €9 billion
Against a national and international backdrop marked by crises, conflicts and uncertainty about the future, individuals and businesses remain resolutely generous and supportive. This is confirmed by the third edition of the National Giving Landscape: in 2022, French giving amounted to €9.2 billion, an increase of 8% compared to 2019.

Giving in France: a widespread and growing phenomenon
Donations, bequests, crowdfunding… The French have a wide range of ways to express their generosity. And they are making the most of them: their total annual contribution amounts to €7.5 billion. The more structured and professional approach of fundraising organisations, along with the favourable tax incentives, are among the factors driving this trend.
Giving in all its forms: the first National Giving Landscape in France
€7.5 billion: this is the total annual amount donated by the French public. This is the unprecedented estimate produced by the first National Giving Landscape, published on 24 April by the Fondation de France’s Philanthropy & Solidarity Observatory. It also reveals that 60% of this giving comes from individuals, compared with 40% from businesses, and that tax-deductible donations account for around 60% of the total.
