Believing in the future
While foundations are often deeply tied to the past and to history, they carry out initiatives for today and tomorrow. Those whose focus is on young people illustrate this intergenerational solidarity particularly well. Whether they are acting in the name of a loved one who passed too soon, or whether they are expressing gratitude for having led a successful career, accomplished their dreams or simply found their place in society, many individual donors care about the future of young people. Depending on their origins and background, they help the most underprivileged high school and college students to study, travel, enter the workforce, etc., not only by providing financial support in the form of scholarships, but also by contributing their time and attention. Furthermore, many businesses support youth training programs in order to encourage excellence and promote the future of their industry.
