Cancer is the leading cause of mortality in France. This disease affects over 350,000 people every year and kills close to 150,000 – which represents roughly 1/3 of total deaths.
The Fondation de France has supported cancer research for more than 30 years. Every year, it provides 2.5 million euros in funding for 15 research teams and around 20 young researchers and oncologists. The Fondation de France’s support takes three approaches:
Study and understand leukemia and solid tumor treatment resistance.
Measure the impact of environmental factors on cancer survival.
Support the international mobility of doctors and pharmacists. Objective: enhance French research.
Improving the survival rates of leukemia patients
The Fondation supports around 15 research teams and 20 young researchers and oncologists for a total of 2.5 million euros per year.
