Young and friendless: loneliness amongst 15–30-year-olds

Whilst, on average, young people as a whole have a more active social life than the rest of the population, some young people aged between 15 and 30 may find themselves in situations of isolation or social vulnerability. 

In 2017, 700,000 young people had no social network at all, and 1.4 million had only one (family, friends, neighbours, community, work, school or university).
