Treasurer Jean Huet presents the 2010 annual accounts, which demonstrate a clear increase in philanthropical activities, funds raised, management and resources expended.
Total funds rose to 1.3 billion euros, with the number of foundations under its umbrella also on the increase. As a sign of their dynamic attitude and generosity, the amount earmarked for actions financed by these foundations was up by 17% to 80 million euros. As for Fondation de France's own programmes, supported by 573,000 donors, they totalled 50 million euros. With a total of 130 million euros redistributed, Fondation de France and the foundations under its umbrella constitute the largest private philanthropic organisation in France working for the benefit of civil society.
The financial crisis was successfully navigated without any significant damage, thanks to the cautious management of the financial committee. Governance was strengthened with the creation of the Bounties Committee to speed up processing.
