Relief work
One year after the earthquake in Haiti, Bertrand Dufourcq, a member of the Solidarité Haïti committee, followed up on the projects on the island. Although the overall climate worsened in the wake of the cyclone, the cholera epidemic and political uncertainty, the projects funded by Fondation de France produced tangible results. In Jacmel, 500 students were able to go back to classes in an entirely rebuilt school. Mobile clinics accessed mountain areas. In Port-au-Prince, one microcredit non-profit is helping thousands of individuals, particularly women, to provide for their families. With its field knowledge and the support of donors, Fondation de France is therefore playing a vital role in the immense reconstruction effort, helping to fund cultural, healthcare and housing endeavours.
