Acting to combat social exclusion Keeping an eye on the phenomenon of social exclusion, which places loneliness at the core of social issues, Fondation de France published an initial study on types of social exclusion in 2010. Social exclusion is a widespread problem. With 1 out of every 10 individuals affected in France and 1 in 4 at risk of suffering from loneliness, it concerns a large part of the French population as early as age 40.
